Health, Food and Mental Inspiration

NBCD Journal 19
Fall is in full Swing!
Welcome back everyone. I hope you are all staying healthy despite the viral flu seasons and multiple vaccinations. Take the time to take care of yourself and get your regular physical exams and stick to your wellness plan. In my prior journals I have discussed dietary habits, recipes and the mental aspect of health. All those things are important to long term wellness. Currently, I am transitioning through a period of slowing down and listening to the clues… Continue

The Beginning of a South Carolinian Novel

Greetings from Rise-

Over the past several years as I have moved around the country with my family, I have collected bits of ideas, books and narratives that describe my life and future aspirations. All together I have read a total of 125 books along with numerous magazines, academic publications, guides, memory boxes and children's books. It is like having a minnie… Continue

The Canaan Trilogy of Books by Marek Halter

Greetings from RISE-

Over the past two and half years, I browsed through the Black Expressions book website and came across an author they added named Marek Halter. I for one was glad to see the new range of writers added to their line up to broaden the perspective of their traditional Black market.

Greetings from RISE-

Recently, I was recalling a 1981 or 1982 college freshman field trip from Western Michigan University to Chicago, Illinois. The professor who was teaching freshman Art History and Appreciation decided that the classroom slide show was not enough contact with the artist so this male professor booked a bus and we all traveled to see the "Judy Chicago Show".
So all the girls and boys paraded through the exhibition while the professor gave a lecture on post modernism and how th… Continue

Let Your Inner Voice Rise

Greetings from Rise,

Several years back after being asked by the editor of www.Footballoneonone.com who goes by the name of Beetle, I pondered over choosing an alter ego name that fits my direction and personality for the path that I am currently walking in this phase of my life. I could have picked anything just to have a name posted and called it a day, but that simple question of what would you like to be called or visualized sent me into a deep think mode. I had to begin to ask myself where… Continue
